Trying to take my time and make a decent female model, instead of shlocking something together for work. Well, here she is so far:

I like the head. It seems smaller than most of the stock female models.

Zarathrusta,
Not bad.
I really like the deltoid/shoulder girdle area. I see so many models with arms that are just extruded from the body but I can actually believe the anatomy on your model in that area. It really looks like the Pec Major is stretching to insert into the intertubercular sulcus of the humerus. I might adjust the skin slightly right below the arm in the back though, it's almost starting to look like flying squirrel kind of wings. You can see the wing effect more on the right arm in your picture. It's there in actuality from the lattisimus dorsi, but it looks a little exaggerated on your model.
Neck looks like it might be a bit elongated. I might suggest shortening it up a bit.

Someone has an anatomy book. :)
Actually, she has no back at the moment, so the ribs are flaring out too much and I believe I agree about the neck. That or the head is just too small. Not sure. I didn't plan this out, really. I just started on the head, figured she needed a neck and then...I gotta make time for her this week, but it might be tough.
I don't box model, so the arms are deffinitely not just extruded out of the trunk.
I wasted a lot of time today on that area where the sternomastoid and sternohyoid meet at the ends of the clavicle. ugh. Stupid and slow. I'm too stupid and slow....what was that crap Larry was giving me about the best and fastest way to work on CGTalk? Ha! Is he watching? Ack!

I DO have an anatomy book, several of them in fact but I rarely ever need to refer to them. I studied anatomy in school because at one time, I wanted to do medical illustration. And of course I'm a massage therapist as my day job so we have to know all that for state boards. I've always been interested in it which is good because I think it compliments my interest in 3D quite well. It's not good enough to know the names of muscles, I had to know every fossa, tuberosity, and sulcus of the bones where the muscles attach. Exciting stuff, at least I seem to think so.
I thought about the head being too small but I would hold judgement until you shorten the neck. It might be making the head look small. It's hard to see from the perspective view.
I don't box model either. I'm impressed by those who do it but I just don't think it's the way I would like to model. I just think it's much easier to get the flow of polys exactly how I want them by pulling points instead of beveling faces.

LOL!!!!
uh, thanks Harry.
I spend a lot of time doing work I don't like, so I then escape it by lurking these damn forums. I did figure it was awhile since I posted any of my own work. I had to wait until I got anywhere on something of my own. Plus, people always take my crits the wrong way (I'm not gonna hold your hand and say how great you are because no one else will in the real world) so I figure I have to post something fairly decent to stave off the retribution postings.
Sorry Giger. That's cool on the training. I studied under 2 different guys who used to do Medical Illustration when I was at school. I have the visual memory for anatomy but not always the left-brain for the names.
btw - Did you kids out there notice which forum I posted in? The WIP forum. Why? Because it's not finished.

Hurry up and finish it, dang it.
heehee.. I just had a thought...
We should all collaborate on the most realistic nude female model possible (or at least those of you who are really really good at it...)
Then render several posed scenes of it....
And submit them to Playboy, with a fake bio!
:D
