Hey All,
I'm in the final stages of my recent model. I've been texturing him off and on this past week. I think I've got things the way I like 'em.

All texture maps are 4000x4000. I'm trying to find ways to get the eyes to be more realistic atm. I'm open for comments and crit. I've done everything I can to make it realistic.

I'd suggest that the stubble texture is a bit too strong and dark, maybe also the eyebrows. Maybe make the eyebrows a little wilder - there's something a bit feminine about them being so neat to my eyes...
But the skin itself is very good!

The eyebrows at the moment look more like a woman's... in that they look "plucked" if you know what I mean.
I agree about the stubble, make it more subtle. I think the nose may need to be a little more shiny?
Awesome model by the way - and with a very good ear!
Adrian.

I guess you the eyebrows are a bit femine. Thats sorta my 'style' I guess. Trying to draw anime all through school ruined me da*nit!
I'll 'man' them up a bit. Also, the nose does need to be more shiny. I need to trailer my maps more.
I'm proud of that ear too. Ears have always been a hard part for me. Modelling a full face is childs play compared to an ear. It looks 'good' because of the lighting and faked SSS.
The main goal of this was to get as photoreaslitic as possible on the skin texture. I'm gonna go back and add a few moles, scars. Then onto teeth!
Thanks for the replies and cheers.

Is it just me, or is his face sunburn red back to his ears and halfway across the top of his head? His neck and the back of his head don't seem so red.

I think its just you, acuttally. ;) There are plenty of people with red skin. Where that overall 'redness' comes from is the plugin I used to fake SSS. And the neck is yet to be textured.
In post processing, I did bump up the saturation a bit. Oh well. If I could ever get off work, I could post a newer version of it.
Cheers.

Brillaint model you have there. I've been trying to do similar things with skin textures, and have plumped with using TB_FakeSkin plugin for the diffused skin look, but would like to know which one you are using, it's doing a pretty good job!
Great stuff, keep it up!

Thanks for the encouragement. Sorry for not responding. I've been stressed, depressed, worked. All in the same day  Better now!
I'm using version 0.28. I've tried th 2nd edition, but I cant make any sense out of it! My settings are as follows.
Skin Color: 153 051 000
\Ksub 147%
Scattering Wrap is 0.538
Everything else is default.
I use an area light and backdrop radiosity to light my model.
Later.

hope you don't mind, but to make it easier to visualize, I would make these changes to improve the texture on your head. Less red, less facial hair, and less usage of the bump map. http://img25.echo.cx/img25/5033/zzz28rl.jpg
hope this helps.

Well darn. I personally, feel that all those little skin bumps and red to the face made it more realistic. Looking at your rendition, I agree about the red.
But do you wanna hand over that skill?
