Portal Gates at the Renwick Gallery Washington, DC by sculptor Albert Paley.

Am working on the textures but happy with it so far, still have to do handles. Adjusting the objects to not look so mirrored and more individual as unique handmade pieces.

Modeling was a meditation process...tried to find an easy way to do it, but found it would have to be done like the original, one object at a time. Pen Tool outlines, made into quad polys, extrude, change to sub D's, adjust and fit to the neighbor...one by one.

Could we please see the wires? a closeup on one of the more intricate sections would be great. How long has this taken so far?

sammael - Thanks, here's a wire for you and a close up of my favorite part...probably because it was the first of the intricate pieces to get built...not all that complicated just interesting. The modeling took 4 days and another couple for texture tests. Here's also an angle shot.
