No comment . if it really is the first thing you modelled in LW . I mean , i did see grater CG cars done in lw or other programes , but in your case , this is your first try ; so it's very cool , i'd say :)
Keep it real , man !

Very nice, especially if that is the first thing you've ever done in Lightwave. question...using Lewis' tutorial, how long did it take you to make that Civic? And did you use the tutorial online or did you buy the tutorial on CD from him and use that?

I've been dabbling with lightwave for 6-8 months now. I used Lewis' online tutorial for reference and starting points, with improvisions along the way. To get to the point that it is at it took quite a while because I only have a few hours a week to work on my own projects, and yes this was my first project in lightwave, however I picked up Inside Lightwave 7 about half way through wich helped out alot with texturing and lighting.

here is another shot wheel detail, no bump map on tire yet because I'm too lazy to go back to this project, woking on my second project (another car) more detail, less poly's and alot smoother...

I actually want to remake an old Nintendo game called RC Pro AM and I've been trying to model a car with boxes, or anything else I could think of. I guess splines are the way to go. If I can get my car looking similar to the quality of yours I will be more than happy. Here is the car I want to model:

I really don't need to spend too long making the models, cause I want at least 3 different cars in the game plus I gotta make the tracks and background elements. I want to make an updated version of the game with all VWs with all 3D rendered sprites and backgrounds! Should be cool if I can get past the modelling part. ;)
Heres a shot of the game if you played video games at all back then:

he has a tutorial on LWG3d.com, doesn't give away all of his secrets but damn, I didn't learn that much in 3 years of college!

Jester, after seeing your Civic and seeing his tutorial on LWG, I signed up to LWG forums, and ordered the tutorial on CD. I didn't feel like weeding through 44 pages of that thread to learn the tutorial.
Thanks for inspiration!

Ahhh Rob Davis,
You burried your old nes!! lol
I still keep mine hooked up along with all my other systems. Hey have you noticed that the old games are hard to play now. I think it is the physics in them. It takes some time getting used to, for example. ill jump over a hole in mario bros. and fall into it. I feel so lame!!

Woo hoo Nintendo now those were the days. The game i sucked at was duck hunt never could hit those stupid birds. Oh nice model by the way. It looks good enough to me. exept maybe the hood texture. It just bugs me that it isn't the same as the rest of the car.

The hood is unpainted carbon fiber...its supposed to be that color. I love the way carbon fiber hoods look on cars..especially during the day with lots of light.
Love the close-up render. Excellent modelling and textures. The first render doesn't due your work justice. Maybe it's the lighting/environment but it's looks like a low poly version. Good work, thanks for posting.
