I can't either. I'm trying to get my computer character (see my avatar pic) to turn the monitor, and it keeps twisting it. Rigging can be sooooo frustrating.

For solids (like your monitor head), it's easier to put it into another layer in Modeler and move its pivot point. You'll be able to turn it without any bones distortion.
You can still use a small bones to distort the mesh to give him some character, say, at the top of the monitor so he can "frown", etc.

Hiraghm,
Do you have a weightmap assigned to your computer head that corresponds to the bone that turns it?
I definately recommend learning to rig but after all the time I spent learning to rig, I decided long ago that I hate doing it. It's time consuming and tedious to boot. I definately recommend ACS4 ( http://acs.polas.net/acs/ ). It's only $90 but it's definately worth it. Once you learn to use it, it only takes you 10 minutes to rig a character that is fully ready to animate. More time if you choose to do a weighted character as it obviously takes time to setup your maps but it's not necessary.
