This was obviously inspired by Cesar Montero! Everyone check his work out here (http://www.3d-wiz.com/forum/index.php?topic=129.0); I must give credit where it is due. I really hope you don't mind Cesar, i just saw your work and i've never done anything like this before so i had to try my luck. My main focus was realism which of course includes lighting.
1 hour total. There are no textures in the scene aside from 1 surface gradient used for the golden rings on the cup and saucer.
No lights in the scene: 1 HDR Image.
Probe @ 70% Brightness.
Rendered in FPrime: 200 Passes @ 1000 x 600 res.
Monte Carlo Radiosity: 10 bounces
Light Quality: 2.000
Please ignore the Restaurant style napkin in the background. The central focus is on the Cup and Saucer. I became lazy and didn't feel like texturing the cloth, or making it look thrown about (or shaped) and less 'static'. Maybe i'll fix it some other time... I originally posted a shot with the coffee and steam in the cup, but i failed. I removed the coffee from the image, leaving just the cup and saucer, sorry folks. It can be improved a great deal yes, but i've other projects to complete So this project is considered "Finished".
And without further Adue:
