I'm bored. Sooooo bored. Actually, doing this model is like whittling on a hunk of wood in the old days. I hope to finish it, or it will be one of those "infini-wips".
Just started. This shape(s) are just for markers and measurements. I don't like using a background image for objects most of the time... So I break out the digital calipers and other tools, then plot points and take a bunch of notes of where things are.
When I am done, I am thinking if I should give the model away or not.

Like the sound of your approach. I want to keep an eye on this one.

Had a good 15 minutes to do start the basic shape.

Your approach intersts me.What are you actually doing, making polygons form placed points?

I use the extrude edges tool a lot. Then I use the Set Value tool to align the points to certain areas.
After I got the top profile of the PSP plotted out, I add more geometry to it so I can have more to manipulate the features later on. Like right now I started the underside of the unit, there is this smooth transition going to the back logo and another more rounded transition going to the top and bottom. I'll post a screenshot how I did that area when I get to it.

Do you mean Extender, when you say extrude edge tool?

Yeah, that's what I meant... I have been using Maya for the past 8 months.

E'ffe'd up on this corner. Going to cause problems later on I think. So I have to re-do it. But it is kinda close to how the flow should be. The corners of the battery pack are a bit tricky. But after I get the main case done, the rest will be easy. A lot of cutting out parts after.
