I posted this in theLW general forum but no one is answering!!!

I'm sure this is a newbie mistake but,

I have a quick 120 frame scene I created to use as a wipe for VT.
I set all my render options up correctly (I thought)...
render frames 1-120, save animation as RTV perfect with alpha etc..
but when I look at the finished product it isnt starting at frame 1, more like 50 or so. I dont know what to do to get it to render completely.

Help please.

Everything else works great, I can make a preview with all the frames there, I can render any single frame but not the whole thing???

Oh, I am not trying the DVE creator, but using Aura/Mirage to create the wipe

I dont know why but, I restarted my sytem today, erased the old render and did it again for the umteenth time and this time it rendered everything.
Just for my peace of mind or confirmation of my stupidity, has this happened to anyone else???

RTV is not a reliable format to render out to from lightwave because of the issue your having. You should render out to an uncompressed AVI or image sequence to avoid the hassel of having to rerender all the time. Anyway theres a tip.

This issue has been around since LW 5 and VT2 days and for some reason Newtek has not even attempted to fix it, admit the problem or frankly give a **** about it. I used to get very upset about this and there are many threads here and in the LW forums about this. Now I have just accepted it and the fact that there are things that Newtek doesn't care about.

As a side note, Bob Tasa re-wrote the RTV plugk-in for LW for use with his LW Connect program. I don't know if he has released it for public distribution, but you could contact him and see.

Exactly Brad, AFAIK if you have Bob Tasa's LW Connect installed you will have NO problems with LW rendering of RTVs.

I'm not sure why Newtek never did anything about it, but Bob Tasa definately did.
