I have been working on this Trex for a while and I consider it about 75-80% done. I used all Planar UV mapping on one large map that is 85"x 85". I have not finished the texturing yet and need to tweek the rig for the animation that I plan on doing soon. The lighting rig is quick and crude right now also. ANy comments for the improvment of this Trex would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Looking good IMO. But, I'd have to say that the mouth area looks weird, i.e. the membrane that joins the upper and lower jaw (whatever that's called. I know nothing about t-rex anatomy  ).
I bet this will look awesome once it's finished, though. :)
EDIT: Just adding a few more comments about the mouth area, heheheh.
Basically, IMO the mouth looks too perfect. Right now the upper and lower jaw look like fully interlocking puzzle pieces, and as far as I know a mouth isn't supposed to look that perfect, if photorealism is what you're going for. I think that you're gonna have to work on the mouth a bit more, aside from all the extra texturing you already said you need to do.
This is just a superficial critique, as there's no way on earth I'd be able to model that myself. :(

I love the textures the look great but what about those 'jaws' (or smthing like that)
fix those and make the eye more angry(T-rexes look angry:) make a bigger pupil aim it to the front and but the eyebrown in front something lower so it will look more angry
Hope it helps Bye :)
