Hi everyone. After my last oroject ( a Ford Focus Rally car) i decided to try some organic modeling. I'd done a female head before, but I'll spare you the horror that was.
So here's my latest attempt, and I really need some objective eyes, because I've been staring at her for to long, and can't see the mistakes anymore. I wan't to see how far I can take this model, and your help and advice would be very much apreciated. So thanks in advance for any tips you can give me to improve:)

Could you post front and side views? It would make it easier to judge. Wireframes would be fine.
First impression is good, but the ear looks too low, at least from this view. Remember that the top of where the ear connects to the head is in line with the center of your eye. Think of eye glasses. The ear piece runs parallel to the floor and attaches at the center of the lense.
Otherwise, it really looks pretty good. I could give you more info with more views, though.

groodwanderer: thanks for pointing out the obvious. That's why it's a W.I.P. :)
smcclurg: I'll check the ears and post some more views later today. Thanks!

That helps a lot. From the 3/4's view, I thought the ears were in a slightly different position.
They look good. Maybe a little low or small, but it's subjective and hard for me to tell. No 2 real people are built quite the same. Your model definitely look real.
You might try adding some more details, like a slight cleff to the chin, creases under the cheaks, dimples, or wrinkles. These could probably be done with a bump map if you didn't want to alter the model.
So, is this head destined to acquire a body?

LOL you are welcome. I couldn't really think of anything else to say. :D ummmm how about her head looks like an egg?:p just playing. I really like the nose it is very well done, and my goodness if that isn't a clean mesh. Very nice.

smcclurg: thanks for taking the time to comment again. I've updated the model, made some small wringels under the eyes using a bumpmap, but the jpeg compression screws up the details. I've raised the ears, so now they sit a bit higher on the head.. Furter more i've accentuated the cheeckbones a bit. I also changed the specular level.
groodwanderer: she's still bald :D I agree that the head is a bit to much like an egg shap, so I've flattened the side of the head a bit, don't know if it's enough?

The first thing that strikes me is that she is very shiny.
Unless you are going for a conceptual look, the skin just doesn't have that sort of sheen to it.
Dunno if you have the "Inside" books, but check out the surfacing on them, or the countless posts from folks who have done the tutorials from the book.
Not saying I could do it though :D
Overall though, nice, though for some reason, she appears slightly androgenous, a bit "boyish" is it the cheeks? Eyes a bit bigger maybe ? Others with more skill will no doubt make the clarification but looking good so far!

colkai : Thanks for the comments. Looking at the picture I posted before I agree, she does look like she just had a shower with vegetable oil. I'll tone down the specularity.
About the boish look, hhmmm, I don't know what's making her look like that. Eyes bigger? The reference I used had those eyes, but then again, even a few milimeters can change the whole look, so I'll experiment a bit more.
