Okay just a question is this supposed to be photoreal or is it a stylized head. Just a question so everyone knows what look you are going for.

well I was looking for somewhere between photoreal and Cartoon. More Cartoon than Photoreal but still easy on the eyes you know.

I think maybe the head is to big and the lips are well.. got me. Wrong.

Ok some of you have been asking me what is it suppose to look like. So here is my reference. I did in Flash. The front view is not very good but hopefully you'll get the idea.

Well, with a chest like that I doubt if anyone would notice her face :p

well from looking at your post and reference it looks to me that her head might be to thin or maybe to long one of those two. Nice Zarathustra

Knock back those brows man. I think she looks a little "Quest for fire" if ya know what I mean.

.....................or maybe just bring those eye sockets out a bit.
To me it looks a little primate.

Needs a monolith in her evolution.

Very nice job, comparing to your drawing, I think you need to taper the outer corner of the eyes...

Hmm, I am not sure.
1. characters without eyes always look very disturbing.
I would really love to see her with some eyelids etc. Right now she really looks a bit like a homo neandertaliensis, or something (as some already mentioned). But as I said once the eyes are in place this impression could change
I would also love to see some wires (wireframe- shade preferably).

From looking at your reference, there are a couple of things that stand out, to me at least...

Like Elmar said, some stand in eyes would help. The socket just seems to give the eyes a startled look, and they do look bigger than the sketch version.

The head looks much different, in that there are more hard angular areas, and also seems narrower/longer. The nose doesn't convey the "femininity" that the reference does, more in the front and 3/4 view than the side.

The cheekbones don't seem to follow a natural flow, either, as they continue down under the mouth. When referencing the image you posted, I would expect her cheeks to be more full.

The mouth also seems to be too far down on the face, and gives her a more snout-like look. I'd push the mouth up a bit, make the lower lips more full, and soften the angles on the tip of her nose.

I'd also look at maybe making the ears a bit smaller, and maybe not as "Prince Charles" like. :)

I don't mean this as a harsh critique, as if I never saw the reference photo, I wouldn't mention half the points I did. I think that you're actually pretty close to having it nailed, it just means pushing around a few polygons here and there... :)

From what I can tell without a wireframe, it seems the modeling is quite decent, it just doesn't conform to your original sketch enough yet. have you tried putting the image in the background of Modeler to see how things line up?
