Can we please have some Audio Filters

VT Edit needs some serious attention to audio filters and effects...

How about a compressor, reverb, normalizer, delay, limiter, gate. Just some basics. Its quite agrivating having to export my wave so that I can do some simple clean up in Sound Forge.

Well I don't think it has all your list but VT4 has EQ (Master, Left, Right, 8 or 10 band), Compressor, Limiter, and I think there is a reverb affect now as well.

Hmm. I don't see those in mine. I do have the various volume controls. I'd really like to see a Normalizer. Is this in an install update or am I just missing it. I am looking in the control tree when an audio clip is highlighted.

The EQ is in the Control Tree as 'knobs' but there are faders as well on a second tab at the bottom of the Control Tree window. The effects are filters that are found in the 'Effects' folder that need to be dropped on the Timeline. I guess they are not available for Live work.

A couple of problems that have been observed are the Left and Right EQ controls are backwards (i.e. Left affects Right). Eugene (ScorpioProd) posted some good basic settings for Compressor which does not have good default values and he also observed the Expander has problems and is not really usable. I tried it and it can work but it can slam the volume full very easily when messing with it, be careful you don't blow your speakers.

Oh, and I mentioned Limiter, which I think is not available, I meant expander. I think there is a delay filter as well.

There are a bunch of audio effects in VT[4]SP1.

As mentioned, I use the compressor on just about every project, it works great, once you figure out how to set it up. And I do use it in a limiter configuration.

The basic audio effect filters are there, but for real power you would need plug-in support for DirectX or VST plug-ins, but VT[4] doesn't support those.
