Wanted to complete a full rig, and pratice a few different ways of modeling for one object. I've spent about two weeks on this (after the day job of course) Learned a lot with IKBooster. It has some goods and evils. Please CC on the modeling, and maybe let me know if you think the lighting works out ok?

credit to Feng Zhu for the concept.

I found the tan line kinda funny. What, is she a warrior only on the weekends or something?

Cool project though.

I like your model very much.

Although the hair is very good I am not sure that it matches the style of the figure very well.

Your model puts me in mind of the characters from the Final fantasy series. And that type of hair might suit better.

Can we see some more views of your model?

Well done

The modelling looks perfect to me, although her breasts are a bit big for my tastes :)

Can we see an animation of her?

Adrian.

jhopfenblatt: hahaha. I wasnt sure about that. now I know. I'll adjust a bit.

I will shoot off some more renders tonight. I dont really know how to animate yet. I was thinking about sharing this model for the LW community. Full weightmaps and bone setup ready. Maybe someone could animate her.

Thanks.

Nice! but I think her belly button looks like a wound. As healthy as she is it should be deep I suppose but the shape and the pucker seen somehow odd to me.

Wonderful work!!

As far as the figure goes....I like the untextured one because she looks Asian, but other than that...very cool indeed ;)

She doesn't look like a warrior to me, more like a professional with a nice fancy dress to let her customers go bonkers. I guess it's her hip which makes her look more like a sex machine than a death machine. But otherwise great looking model.

I love the model and your renders are top notch. Your skin texture is also very cool.

I have 2 questions.

1. How did you do the hair, you have a great technique there and its very effective. I have had problems with solid modelling and with sas-lite, although your example is spot on and exactly what I am looking for.

2. Do you have a quick way of flipping between surface settings? For example going from clay surface to textured surface. I have a few models with a lot of textures and I have not found a way to save a batch and import a batch of textures in one go.

Look forward to seeing this model with motion, it will be brilliant.

sliver: Hair is poly hair. The tut is on this site. I tried really prefered this method as apposed to Sasquatch. I made the strands a little too thin I think. Could have spread them out some more. I have been busy this weekend with Easter, but I will do some close up shots of the head tonight and post tomorrow.

I will also share out the scene, objects, textures. She has all bones ready and weight maps. Would anyone be interested?

For the textures. I textured her, then selected all the textures in surface editor and loaded the Default texture for the clay render. Maybe you could load two copies of the object, one texture and one not. Hide one from camera and lights, and just switch between the two?

Kuzy: I totally agree. I setup morph targets for the Iris and pupil to dialaite (sp?) individually. I think if the Iris was a bit bigger she might look more asian. Also a close up helps a lot.

FANTASTIC model you have there. To be honest, you must be slightly insane to share this superb piece of work... either that or a saint? I really like it, it's still the obvious buxom brunette, but different in style to all the other ones i've seen.
This has gone in my favourite images folder... only a select few make it! :D

I'm also amazed that you can model like this but can't animate... if you could animate like you model, you'd be working for ILM or Pixar.

Oh, but if you are desperate to pass on scene, model, and textures, i would be willing to take a look. Make sure you include a text file with it with a copyright notice and stuff, you really wouldn't want people using it for paid work.

Thanks for your response ISSI, I will have another go with the strand modelling, you have given me more inspiration - thanks :) ... currently working on a walk cycle at the moment on my own rigged character. Keep us informed on progress...

I just really like the model, it has a style to it that sets it appart :)

Thanks a lot. Here is the object as promised. View the readme file for details.

lardbros: I really enjoy modeling. I do need to start learning how to animate, but I have too many things that I want to model. :)

sliver: a few more shots of the hair. Hope they are not too dark.

Great modeling but theres something that really bothers me about the face, i think its a case of modeling from a stylized drawing(feng's concept) Instead of modeling from reference. For example the shape of the eyes seems very off when looking at the lwo. Also i think the eyes or too far apart or something because the iris isnt really centered in the eye when points straight out as it should be. Theres also some fairly odd edge loops around the mouth that would make facial animations a pain to set up. The face texture dosent seem to really compliment the model as much as it could, not entirely sure why it is but the untextured model itself looks very asian yet she looks sort of cuacasion in your renders, that might be the skin tone its hard for me to put my finger on exactly what seems off.

The body is GREAT except for some very messy edge loops that i would clean up, but if it looks good it the render its not really a problem, still just something i would fix up. One thing is the breasts dont seem to fit into the bra thing there they are much bigger and in a slightly different spot that the breats you have modeled(i get cliping when loaded in modeler).

The hair is fan-****ing-tastic for poly hair, i love it. Only thing i can say is you might add some a-symetric detail to it to mix it up a bit but its not something that really sticks out so the effort to do that might not be worth it.

Are you using radiosity in the textured render? That might be whats throwing the skin tone off it tends to desaturate everything maybe try adding some saturation t the textures or just rendering without radiosity.... Also might want to try some SSS on the skin too, dunno if you feel like the hassel of setting that up right and the horrible render times tho.
