Um, my rotation handles in Layout are acting strangely. I'm wondering if I activated some strange mode in LW7.5d. I know it's not the world, parent, local modes, I tested it.
Here's the problem: Normally, when I have a cleared scene and click and move the rotation handles on an object the arrow cursor disappears and and I can rotate 360 degrees without having to click and move twice. I have this rigged character scene with only 4700 triangles in it, that when loaded, I can only rotate an object very little before I have to click and drag again. The cursor doesn't disappear and moves till it reaches the edge of the screen which prevents me from rotating the object any further. Any idea on what is causing this on my PC? I have a feeling it is saved in the scene file somewhere.

is it only one object or all objects on the scene? is it the same with lights and camera?
are you trying to work against some motion modifier that is "forgotten-somewhere" or some expression or whatever? is it same with ik on and off?

Yes, every object has the same problem when I rotate it with the cursor arrow. I haven't used any extra modifiers or expressions. I only have this problem with this particular setup and model file. Other scenes work fine. Very odd. I even unistalled my mouse drivers. didn't help. I'm starting to think that the file is corrupted some how:( Turning IK on and off didn't have any effect. I'm going to look closer at the motion properites.
Thanks for the reply:)

That definitely sounds like you're rotating in a mode other than parent... Does it only happen when you rotate multiple objects? Or when you rotate one object on it's own too? If it only happens with multiple objects, check the coord system....

This happens when single objects are being rotated. It is most noticeable in the way that the arrow cursor doesn't disappear when I click and drag on the rotation handles. Instead, while rotating the handles, the cursor moves until it reaches the edge of the screen and then the rotation is abrupted and stopped. I then have to click and drag again to get a larger rotation.
This seems to be an unusual case

This is very unusual.... Maybe a driver issue?

I doubt the drivers are to blame because this only happens with this particular rig. Maybe the parenting of the bones but that doesn't make sense either.
I'm going to reinstall my mouse driver, maybe that will fix it. Windows drivers are easily tarnished, I'm finding.

I fixed it!!! Luckily I remembered that resaving the file sometimes helps. In this case it was a problem saving with the 'divided window' view with 'center selected' turned on:) I turned off center selected and changed the display to quad view. I resaved and the cursor went back to normal for my scene. What a relief, that bug was annoying.
