Does VT have firewire?

I have a friend who has the VT2, and I asked him if it had the ability to record media digitally through firewire. He said no, but I have a hard time believing this since the leading editing systems out there such as Avid and Final Cut Pro use Firewire.

Does the VT have firewire input/output, and if not does it support firewire through an add-in card?

NewTek does not manufacture or add 1394 connections, but VT does take advantage of Firewire connections in the system.

This is being enhanced significantly for VT[3], with Firewire batch capture, Firewire-based live switching of multiple 1394 inputs, and transparent digital file-copy of any DV clips to the system.
