View Full Version : Getting Specular effects in Radiosity Renders

I've been working on this project that involves creating some photoreal pictures of a new shoe design. Below is a rendering of my model with pure radiosity (no lights).

Comments, critiques on how to make it look more photoreal.

The main problem i'm having is that the shoe is made out of leather, and, eventhough I applied a leather hires texture image, I cannot get specular effects to show the "shiny" grain of the leather.

In order to have specular highlights you must either A) Have a light with effect specular checked or B) have raytrace reflection on and use a window shaped card or whatever specular shape you want, but the material to recieve the highlight must be reflective. I would just toss in a spot that only affects specular.

Hard to see how the shoe looks right now, so I will refrain from any comments at the moment other than the shape looks nice.
