If your cad program has trouble with the dxf file dstorm has a plugin that will export a dxf file that cad programs can read. The difference is that lightwave uses 3dface and cad programs use polylines when creating a dxf file.

Thanks for the help. Does anyone have this plugin? Is it free? DStorm's website won't load for me.
thanks

Use Accutrans 3D to load the lwo file then save it to a dxf file and then load it into your cadd program. I convert all my Autocad dxf files with Accutrans 3D before saving to lwo format. It also has a tool to flip faces before saving out to Lightwave.
