Hey everyone.
I am currently working on this opener for an informational video, and this is what I got so far. I am having problems though with the curtains when I turn on ray trace shadows, I get solid shadows. Is there any way to get some good shadows without ray tracing? Anyway here's what I got.

Could we see the animation? That way we might be able to give more constructive critiques.

The first thing I would say is that you need to add a bump texture to give the appearance of cloth.

If you're using spotlights then you can use soft shadows if I'm not mistaken?

Thanks, I will try the spotlights. All I have is one area light, I didn't know it would be any different. I would like to show the animation as soon as it's finished, but I don't think I know how, I haven't uploaded an animation before.
