VT4 has plugin support for PowerCG, but not Boris Graffiti 3.
Graffiti 3 is a vector-based 2D/3D title animatiion generator. Besides VT4 suite and Mirage, it is one of my favorite programs. It works seemlessly within
SpeedRazor 5.5 as an effect or transition. Kind of like "Croutons" within VT-Edit. Graffiti 3 has plugin support from all of the other popular video editor programs out there. It seems logical that a professional video editing suite like NewTek's VT4 should also be supported.
I've contacted Boris' Product Manager and they are willing to support NewTek in the future. Please give them a call NewTek...Mark

Wrong direction. This isn't going to happen this way.
All Boris has to do, which they haven't in the past 5 years, is to get the SDK. I can provide you and them a link.
Once they have the SDK in hand they can write any kind of interface to the VT they would like. For whatever reason, this rudimentary approach hasn't been taken by this larger than NewTek corporation.
I own BorisFX. I have wanted a BorisFX for VTEdit since it's inception but this has not occurred. I tire of this being laid at NewTek's feet as it's not their responsibility to create this tool for BorisFX. It's BorisFX's tool, afterall.
What's his address and I will make the call/email. This borders on the ludicrous.

Mark,
Now that I see it's you...
LWConnect was created EXACTLY FOR THIS REASON.
You know the old adage: Build it and they will come. It's built (VTEdit) but they didn't come.
And as you clarified to me before, you are an LWConnect owner... Tell ME what all you miss...

Robert,
At Boris, I've been emailing with Mukesh Shah; mukesh@borisfx.com
You asked me to tell you what I miss. To make a long story short, I haven't been able to use LWConnect yet because my VT card isn't working in my new PC. NewTek is sending me a fix though--they're the best!
I'm just getting started on learning and using LW 7.5c. Is it easy to create text effects with it? I'll have to think more about specific requirements and then send them to you offlist to see what you think. Like everyone else, I want to be able to do anything and everything with text with minimal amount of effort. Boris Graffiti 3 is an awesome program for this.
Sounds like you talk the lingo WAY better than I do (SDK, etc...)! Thanks for chiming in and helping with the fight...Mark

Robert, so does every NLE that BorisFX supports have a totally different SDK, and this should be no different?
Or are there other issues since there is no DirectX plug-in support in VT[4] and everyone else has that?
The latter is the impression I've always had.

No Eugene, I don't think so. It's a CLEAR case of disinterest on their part:
Robert,
There are no immediate plans in the pipeline to support VTE. I have forwarded requests from you & other users (guess it all depends on how many we get) to our Product Managers. If & when the plans are afoot to support VTE then we'll let you know etc.
Thank You.

Good day
As an owner of both, BorisFX and VTEdit, it would be nice to see some support for VT.
Would it help you out if I forwarded the SDK your way?

This has always been their postion, regardless of how we speculate as to why not.

Well, then I guess the logical question to ask is "why should they support VT?"
Do we have enough interested users that will actually spend the money to buy it to justify their development expense?
As third-party plug-in developers for the VT know, a lot of people may get excited about new products, but how many actually put up the cash and buy them?
And now that we have LWC, no need for Boris anyway. ;)
Food for thought.

As cool as LWConect is its not the same as boris. ( i have both)
with boris i can click on a filter put in some keyframes and see what i need in the menu. too easy. Particles? I know you can do Particles in Lw but not that easy. same with other filters.

Randall,
No doubt. We are no where near there. Yet.
The thing that's missing, for us/me at least in LightWave, is an easy way to make, hook up and maintain a panel of control for those things I want to give the user up front.
Particles don't have to be particles to have a particle-look. ;) But hooking it all up to slider control is the issue.
Confident, I am, that this will be overcome in the short.
