i am fairly new to LW, but just starting to get the hang of it.

my question is:
-------------------
when i make a model with multiply layers in the MODELER and load it in LAYOUT i want all the differents layers/parts of this object to be "connected" together. with "connected" i mean when i move one part of the object, the other layers follows.

i hope someone can help me!

THANKS!

Open the Layer editor. Switch to Hierachical view, then drag the children onto the object you want to be the parent.

Welcome to the Club.
LW gives you the option of keeping things separate or not in Modeler and in Layout.
First, if you are not going to animate separate layers separately in Layout then combine them in Modeler before saving and sending to Layout. Put all the layers in the foreground (Shift click all of them to the foreground) and copy them to a single layer in a new (Shift N) object layer or use an empty layer in the current object's layers. Save the object under a different name. New object is best, I think, because you still have the separate layers in the original to work with if you need to make changes.

Second, if you are going to animate separate layers separately in Layout but want to move everything at once some of the time you can Parent all the layers to a single layer (or Null Object, or anything else in the scene: camera, light, etc.) and the layers will all follow. In the scene editor, (Classic Scene Editor LW8), highlight the child layers and drag the layers to just below and to the right of the Parent layer. They should all stay there and line up under the Parent. Now when you move, rotate, size, etc the parent layer, the rest will all move, rotate, size, etc as well. But you can separately pick any of the layers to move, rotate, etc by themselves.

I don't know which LW version you have but Parenting is what you are looking for in Layout.

I hope that's not too confusing for you. It's a lot easier to do than to explain.

you can also set up your parenting scheme in modeler while you're working b4 you ever go to Layout. Just open the layer browser in modeler and tell it which layers are parented to what other layers - then your hierarchy is all set up to go in Layout.
