Anyone here using HD Instance from Happy-Digital? What's you're experience?

A must have tool.
It allows countless instances of an object with absolute control on position, scale, rotation, and colour-hue.
It also works with LW-particles.
What is written on HD web site is truth, no bull$hitting.
Note that LW8.0.1 and HD_Instance are currently dont like each other.
LW8.0 works well with HD_Instance.
The developer of HD_Instance is working on this problem and its a matter of hours to have it fixed, as far as he wrote in his email.
So, if you read somewhere about this problem, worry not.
Last but not least, one of the best plugin investments.

Thank you for the reply. Was wondering about compatibility with 8. Glad it's getting fixed for 8.0.1. Wonder if he's working with NewTek to insure compatibility with 8.2.
Wish FPrime would work with it.

i should hope so. poor grahm has been aware of this problem w/8.01 since september.
so while i support your characterization of this plug-in (it can/will be indispensible), i am saddened by this non-fix. :(

MooDog, is not Graham fault, believe me.

oh i do. i'm sure the poor guys hands are kinda tied with this problem.
his record of customer service is sterling, so i'm sure a four month non-fix has him banging his head against the wall. me too tho. keep our fingers crossed that 8.2 magically solves something :D .
to nthused: buy the plug. an important investment that will quickly pay for itself.

Believe me:
HDInstance is one of the main reasons I'm still on 7.5a...and I love it...

Here's my first test - rendered last night. Instance used on the trees. I'll be using different trees on the final - as these were not full enough.

Hmmm
I got some crashes but didnt spent time in udnerstanding why.
Graham writes in the latest 1.6.4 readme.txt
"Some people have experienced problems using it with LightWave 8.0.1, but it works fine with LightWave 8.0.0. We're working on a fix for that."
As far as he wrote me, he is have it fixed soon so I am reliefed.

hey! thanks graham.
more reasons to look forward to 8.2. tho from a third party viewpoint, it must be a bit frustrating to see satisfied customers dumped (read s%#t) on by the originating software 'cuz they changed stuff w/o alerting you.
all water under the bridge, as we will be "happy" once again. thx! :D

I looked at this yesterday. I had it crash when raytracing shadows with area or linear lights. Other light types worked fine.
