does anyone remember the old photoshop plugin image filter, and what version of lw it was? it was a great plugin, which, for some reason, was not included in 7.x and 8.
i'd like to pass this as a feature request, but right now i'm just interested on finding out what lw version it first came out on.
also, if it's a 3rd party plug, or if there is a 3rd party plug that does this, i'd appreciate some info on that.
thanks!
EDIT: to be clear, the photoshop plugin image filter plugin takes a photoshop plugin (e.g. *.8bi) and applies that to the final rendered image.

I had it on 5.6 ... but that was the first version of lightwave I had, so it may have been included before that.

It does work perfectly well in LW7.x and 8.X. However, you can only use filters upto PS5.5, above that they don't work. Not a problem here as I stopped upgrading PS at Version 5.5 :D The file you are looking for is 8bf.p and was definitely in LW5.5/5.6, don't forget to dig out a copy of idiot.p while you are there. LW just isn't complete without 'Eagle in a Barrel' :p

There are popbably several orphaned pligins that might work with newer versions.
Maybe Newtek will consider posting 'discontinued' plugins for download.
It could be placed under the download area for registered users.

oh ok. hmm.... (not sure how it fits in the scheme of things... i'll dig up an old 5.6 doc and see if it's there to explain.) thanks!

ah! i found out, reading through the old 5.6 addendum.
the buffer simply means lw buffers, like depth, diffuse, spec, etc. the 8bf plug applies the filter to those buffers. pretty cool.
if anyone wants the 5.6 addendum, i got a copy right here. let's just make sure newtek doesnt mind distributing it amongst ourselves. ;)
