I'm not sure what this guy is. I'm thinkin like a Nymph or something like that. Anyhoo, i'm about 4 or 5 hours into modeling, and just thought i'd post and hopefully get some feedback! Thanks!:D

Here's another update. Attached the arms, and i'm thinking of making the forearms even bigger. Also, i'm thinking of two fingers and a thumb, big and oversized hands as well. Let me know what you guys think! :D

Hey i like it. Yeah go with some bigger forearms. I think that would look cool.

yeah, its a great model. i like the head, but that is not a nymph
A nymph is a magical sex creature (really!) who look nice and seduces ppl
that looks more like a goblin - small and nasty

Hey, thanks for the feedback. And yeah, he's definately not a sex creature, so i'll stick with the goblin thing. But i'm also thinking of giving him some dragonfly-type wings. He's gonna be really small compared to a human, almost the size of like a hummingbird. What do you guys think?:D

Another Update. Here's a version of the wings. Not sure if i'm gonna stick with them yet. Just hoping to get some feedback. Fire away! :D

Wow cool wings man. You are pretty good at this modelling thing. They seems a bit on the long skinny side. Somewhat like a wasps wings or something. Pretty cool though. I think once you finish modeling his hands his character will begin to come out more. But yeah it definitly looks like something that would create mischief. I think it would be cool if you made a colony of them like wasps, annoying pesky little insects...wasps.

Hey, thanks for the comments. I tweaked the wings a bit and thought i'd post. I'll do the hands tonight and hopefully have an update tonight or tomorrow. Later! :D

Hey I like the the update. Wings are looking good. Also the glowing eyes are a good idea, they are glowing right? I was wondering about just underneath the ears. It seems a bit bumpy? Doesn't seem to flow real good to me. IMO. Keep going faster, faster, looking forward to the updates.:D

Ok, i added the hands, but i still have to do some more tweaking. I'll add a web between the thumb and index finger tonight probably. let me know what you think!

Let me tell you that the model is great, but I have to say I dont entirly like the whole wing thing......It makes the creature look too feminine....when he had no wings he looked like a goblin and that was cool, but with the wings he sorta reminds me of some sort of fairy....I dunno, seems too nice, I'd ditch the wings and make him look more like a scavenger type of creature....Than again thats just me....
and another thing, are the bumps on his knuckles intentional? If they are I think the hands would look better with out them, It looks as if his skin got pinched.....
Gotta say that I do like the model a lot though

Here's another update. I added the pelvic area and the upper thigh. Hey Adam, thanks for the input. Yeah, i'm still not sure if i'll stick with the wings. If not, i'll just delete them and patch up his back. And i agree about the knuckles. I'll have to add a little more detail in that area.

And a few more angles....

I don't know. I like the wings personally. His facial features don't remind me of a goblins, and fairy creatures can be pretty damn intimidating if you ask me. Fay folk have very powerfull magic and this little dude looks to me like he could spell trouble. Especially with those glowing eyes. I do agree with the hands maybe add some fingernails of some sort. I don't suppose you would HAVE to since it is a fantasy being, but i think it would look better with fingernails. Keep updating I enjoy your work. Oh and I know I am behind on my WIP, but school is kicking my ***. Only 3 weeks left tell summer though. :D Just in case you wanted to know. LOL ;) Allright I will stop typing now.

Looking sharp and stylized Capel. There's alot of attention to detail in the wings and in the arms. There is a weird pinch where the neck and upper chest meet though.
Have you thought about antenae or bunches of antenae that emulate hair?
What are your thoughts about the texture map? Is he colored in under-saturated greens and light blues or does he have an insect like speckle pattern?
Nice work so far.

Cassanovastein: Thanks. I'm thinking of an overall pasty white-ish color for the body, with pinks and light greys, and giving the wings a blue-ish, transparent dragonfly wing texture, but i'll probably have the wings glow and sparkle. Man, that's a gay word, sparkle.

Ok, here's another update. I did the legs and feet, and now i'm just tweaking parts here and there. I'll start texturing probably within the next day or so! Let me know what you guys think. :D

I really like the knees and the calves....very nice....but dont u think the feet are just a bit to big???
Capel

I wanted his hands and feet to be exaggerated... but maybe i overdid it a little. I'll shrink em' down a bit and see what it looks like. Thanks for the crit, Adam! :D

I like the big feet!
Having said that, don't get annoyed with this little thought I have. I like the dragonfly wings, but part of me wants to see you ditch them altogether. With this character being as slight in the body as it is, I think it would be extra cool if you were to extend the arms slightly, add the last two fingers to each hand in almost grotesquely elongated form, and web from ring finger to pinky/pinky to ankle with a bat-like leathery wing. The result being half grasping hand, half bat wing. I realize that this is probably not very helpful input, but when I look at this character, that is what I would most like to see. I can't get enough of that flying membrane!:D
I don't want to tell you how to create, but it would be so choice!
p.s. I still dig the feet.

Yeah that would be pretty cool....

Here's what i've been working on lately. Finally finished the modeling of the inner-mouth. Hey cl1ff, that's actually a REALLY good idea, and would look cool. I'm just not sure if i have the energy to add it. We'll see how it goes. :D

You made this char pretty fast, nice job. One thing that has been kinda buggin me is right below the chars ear. There is an indent below each ear, and to me it doesn't really fit. Also where the upper chest and neck meet looks a bit odd. Just my opinion of course. So are you going to start texturing him? Oh and I like the hands and feet. I would keep them the way they are.

well at least maybe add some claws or something to the hands and feet. Heh i was writing when you just posted the inside of the mouth. Yeah, with teeth like that he definitly needs some more implements of destruction, and claws are always good for the tearing and rending of flesh. Also i think cl1ffs' idea would work well. Just a matter of doing the work  .

Very original, especially the wings. Great work all round.
BTW I'd check adams posts before you take any notice of his advice.
