I recently had a work placement at dtmedia.co.uk, and I was given the chance to model a tank for their recognition (anti friendly fire program) called "insight"!

The model took me about 3 hours, and is fully detailed. This is the first model in lightwave I've ever produced for a company. They were impressed and said they would like to take me on for more work in the summer (after my gcse's). :D

Sadly, the animator there needed a format used by max, so i lost all the uv and texture maps. (the exporter is lame) :(

What do u guys think of it? ;) (please don't bite my head off)

ps if anyone wants any freelance models done, drop me a line.:D

Considering the very short time spent on it, rather fine!

¸²Ý.

I guess it looks like a spartan yeah. good work nice detail for such time. maby the company should work in USA tho, do something good for once.

I dont belive that this is now what the training sims look like. i used one in germany a year ago, it made amoured fist look good!. (tho u used a fully equiped tank for it)

Its a shame dt media hasn't sold it to the the U.S and UK armys. It could have saved alot of lives. :(

However, The RAF (royal air force) has shown interest, and alot of foreign militarys have snapped it up.

Do you guys know of any free programs that i can use to convert to max format? The lightwave ones don't save any texturing.

very nice model but could you find any other place than Turbo Squid. I just find there pricing thing to be ridiculous. Some really lousy model that nobody will ever buy gets a $100 price and someones months of hard earned work gets a pricetag like $80. Its just ridiculous.

Your model deserved a much better price for the work. $32 bucks man, some 15 poly dog has a $60 price tag. Your Apc deserves atleast a $150

I know, $32 is hardly worth it. Another thing to note is that I'll only get 50% commision.

and then 10% tax

and then converted into £

I think I'll end up owing them money!!! lol :p

Turbosquid isn't really a way to make money, but is good, because if my system crashes, I can always get my models back off the ftp!!!

I really want to get some freelance work, but the only work I've been able to line up is in the summer!!

If anyone needs some modeling.... u can see my prices are V reasonable!!!! ;)
