Never mind that Creative Cow has a Mac-bias. This article, while only scratching the surface, but it gives an idea of where things are at in terms of NLE's and AAF (another writer dissing NewTek, sigh).

in the August 2003 issue....the article
mentions M100, Avid, FCP, Premiere, After Effects, Discreet, Leitch, BBC Technology, Da Vinci, Nucoda and Quantel.

Mee too
and when the Video magazines do comparisons of different types of video equipment and list just about everything under the sun but suspisiously leave out the VT, or the digital painting mags suspisiously leave out Aura.
If you don't ALREADY know about Newtek products, then the new people just getting into it would have no idea about them, and buy other products instead.
it jest ain't right:(
I agree. See my post (http://vbulletin.newtek.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=65055#post65055)
Newtek should be mentioned in some circle - be it with Avid or FCP or Premier or Videonics, something!
Who is VT's competitors? If you are shopping for an edit system, who do you compare the toaster to??

Ponder?
Would Toaster Edit be included in more comparisons with NLE's if it was a standalone.
....a standalone NLE with AAF?
:p

It's being discussed, but not for the next version, Eugene.
