Hi folks.

I thought it would be handy if we could have preview audio routing capability through the DDR's, for live applications.

Scenario: You're playing back video with audio to an audience via DDR1 (audio routed to a main set of audio outputs), and then you can preview/scrub through the audio on a 2nd DDR (set up a cue point on a music video, or an ambiguous point in a video clip you're going to play next), through a 2nd physical audio output (which you could route to a headphone amp/mixer, etc). Once the point is set, you can make the switch, and the audio from the 2nd DDR goes to the main channel to the audience (say a radio button you click from audio preview to program on each DDR?)

Again, the point for routing the preview audio to another audio output (on the SX-8 or SX-84) is so you could hook it to a headphone amp or mixer, and set the cue points offline.

So essentially, can we dedicate/route outputs via the DDR as Main/Program audio outputs (feed to the audience/FOH mixer), and preview/scrub audio to another physical set of outputs so you could listen on a headphone amp/personal mixer.

I see the capability as very necessary for live VJ's, live IMAG shows/support, or even TV broadcasting, etc.

Perhaps this capability is already there with current software and the SX-8 panel, and I've missed it (or a back way into a solution)?

I currently have at VT3 hardware card, with a recent VT4 software upgrade, and an SX-8 panel.

I'd love to know your thoughts on this.

Thanks very much!
Shawn

We already do this in our VJLive software. We use the secondary Back audio outputs to facilitate a cue function.

Only thing is you MUST have a VT4 card in order for this to work. The VT3 card only has one stereo audio output.

So Shawn it sounds like you are into the VJ applications. Considering we developed VJLive from using the VT system in that application, I would love to speak with you more about how you are using your system.

Give me a shout on the email sometime.
