Intel Mobo?

I've noticed that most people, and dealers, seem to use Supermicro mobos for VT systems. I actually do also, but I was talking to an engineer who was doing tests on dual Xeon systems and said that he had some PCI bandwidth problems on Supermicro 7505 chipset boards. He said that he gets the best PCI bandwidth out of Intel boards.

I'm wondering why Supermicro? Why not Intel boards? Seems that the company who makes the CPU and chipset would make the best, most stable board.
