Hi,
I am working on a Lighthouse and I think I coudl use some critic. The modelling is allmost finished (just some edges that need beveling) and took about 5-6 hours so far. The next step would be texturing. I think that the lower part of the tower will be made of bricks while the upper part will be paintet iron (red and white stripes). Finaly I would like to put it into a scene with some cliff and ocean.
Right now I am looking for critic on the modelling:

- do the propotions look right?
- is it detailed enough?
- did I leav anything important out?
- anything else?

Here are the pics:

I know this is probably a silly question, and has been answered many times. But i always see test renders like the one above (the bottom of the three) and i wonder how is it done, what settings are used and how are the lights set up?

Please excuse my inexperience (a better word then n00bishness, no?).

BTW, i think the lighthouse looks great :)

I used backdrop radiosity and a distant light with a yellowish color.
