Does anyone know if the RS-8 can be modified through toasterscript or some other method? Rather than have DDR button choose the first DDR in the switcher, and the ALT button choose the second DDR in the switcher, I would like to be able to make it use DDR's that are not on the switcher. Those DDRs have titles I only use for DSK...I don't want them to clutter up the switcher as we never switch to them, and this is for a church so its all volunteers...the simpler the better. Can anyone at newtek give me any info since I don't see anything in the forums or documentation?

We could do that for you. We would need to customize the interface to limit you to only the Input Channels you wish to see visible. For instance if you only use 4 cameras then we could make a skin that ONLY shows 4 inputs. Once the inputs are filled it would not matter if you added other DDRs etc. They would be there but just not seen.

The RS8 hardware is hard coded to only open DDR 1 and 2. There is no way around that.

Another trick would be to open the switcher in 16 channel mode. Move the DDR1 and 2 to inputs 14 and 15. Then change the switcher skin to 8 channel mode. Bingo no more seeing the DDRs on the switcher.

A simpler solution but we can make it more permanent if you like. Skinning is something we have done quite a bit of. Here is a link to a version of the VT[4] we built to sell to Disc Jockeys. www.vjlive.com (http://www.vjlive.com)
