Preferences whacked??

I recently had a virus on my system and now LW and Modeler act funny. Actually, there's nothing funny about it at all - every time I try to load an object, scene, image, etc - the file requesters don't show. It just locks. This happens with ALL drop down menus is both programs.

I fell asleep waiting for tech support yesterday, and I think this can be cured by resetting the preferences, but I don't remember how to do that. And I don't want to %^* anything up!

Can anyone help?

Go ahead, %^* something up as that is how you will learn.

Do a search on your system for lw*.cfg; find the location of those files and delete the lw* cfg files you find there.

The more you %^* it up the more you will learn. There really is very little you can do to make it irreparable; there's always a re-install. :D
