This is an existing Midrise, in a city called Pleasant Hill, about 40 miles east of San Francisco. I thought it would be a good excercise to keep up on LightWave skills.
I didn't use radiosity, because my comp, is slow........so I tried to "fake it" (if thats possible). I may still try, but after 36 hours I give up.
Sorry about the barren landscape, but thats my next task.
If anyone has any links to using clip map images (trees, shrubs...) and how they cast shadows that would be sweet.
Anyway let me know what your thought are.......

There are several good plugin's which fake radiosity. Try searching at http://www.flay.com There 's one with a lot lights attatched to a null all intensities are already set. It uses image maps which gives the soft shadowing which is very typical for radiosity. Don't recall the name though.
There's also Eky's plugpack. Gave it try a year a go. Should try's that one too. There's a tutorial too. http://www.kolumbus.fi/erkki.halkka/plugpak/

some personal remarks though. If you want to fake the radiosity desaturate your materials a little more. Add small amount of very bleu-ish grey (should be very light).
Oh yeah ditch the tiled sand (?) material make it procedural kind of material the tiles are very easy to see.

Btw keep up the good work.

Really nice work, just a couple of points.

The texture on the front diagonal section of concrete is repeating, try using a seemless tile and a grunge map to add some variation. Also the reflection in the windows are too clean, an ever so subtle map to break this up will make a huge difference. Also looking at the footpath, you need some interaction between sufarces to show some sort of connection. This sort of detail will make it sing, and give it a sense of scale.

Looks good though

just on the side. Eki's got a version 2. works really fast. Just gave it shot ! Very impressive.
I Believe Riki is right about the reflection. Looks very quite 'loud'.

Thank you for the advice.
I desaturated the textures and tried to tone down the glass.
I also added some trees, I don't think the trees are blending well.
Now I have to plant them in the ground and not out of the sidewalk.
I got rid of the texture on the retaining wall.
Thanks for your commnents and let me know of improvements.
