Ok guys.. This is the problem..

When trying to do a simple dynamic test: cliché: a ball going through a brick wall, everything goes excellent. Except, nothing does come to a complete rest after the main motion. The bricks are still shivvering or making very small bounces on the ground.

I tried increasing the friction of the ground plane, and / or the bricks. What should I do?

Use the Stop by set to Stabilizer, and the start by set to Restart by collision.

THANX! so obvious when you say it! ****.. never looked at that.. I was so busy trying to get the simulation right that I thought the bricks would stop by themselves!

Thanx again..

Hi Ge4-ce,

Could you let us see what you have created, please?

It's not finished yet.. + it is too horrible to show. It just a ball going through a brick wall.. Nothing too fancy actually..

it was just a test..

Ge4-ce -- The current issue of 3D World magazine (No. 54) has a great tutorial by Benjamin Smith on LightWave 8's dynamics. The tutorial features a steel ball smashing through a brick wall. Here's a rendered frame from the tutorial.

Who knew that the answer to making good ball/brick wall collisions was to use pez candies for bricks? ;O)
