Backdrop transparency?

Hi there,

I have seen in tutorials loading a backdrop image as a template and it only shows the black lines. Whenever I load an image (say an airplane) it shows the plane, but also has a white background around it. Like a white square. How can I make it so only the black lines show and not any sort of background in the display-->backdrop images?

Lower the brightness and up the contrast at the same place you assigned the image, or edit your backdrops so they have a grey background from the start. To my knowledge there is no way to "alpha out" unwanted areas for backdrops.
