Hello to all,

I don't know if anyone here is still using LW with UED to make static meshes for UT2K3/4, but...
I had been using LW7.5c to make objects for UED3 with no problems for a while now, but with LW8 I think something in the way LW8 saves objects must have changed. No matter what I do, any object I create with LW8 imports into UED3 with error messages. It's the standard UED message about how you should only use triangles, etc and may not reflect a 'real' problem.

I have tested this with the simplest possible objects.

I think my question is:
Is there 'that' much different in the way objects are saved between LW7.5c and LW8?
I imagine there is 'new data' within the .obj files from LW8.

Any response is appreciated,
Thanks!

I'd like to hear the answer to this question, too. Having both recently purchased LW and discovering the UT2004 community, I was thinking about using LW to create models for UT2004 as a way to have fun teaching myself how this all works.

As long as LW 7.5 works, I should be okay, but I was hoping to uninstall 7.5 as soon as 8 becomes stable (which it isn't yet).

That's the thing, I have both 7.5c and 8 installed. I was hoping I could just go with having only 8 installed. I'd like to stick with the new LW8 menu layouts etc and get into that, instead of having to go back and forth with 7.5c and 8 menus.

Perhaps some kind soul out there has set up a menu 'preset' for LW7.5 that mimics LW8's? Hmm?

EDIT
OK, I can import LW8's menu layout into LW7.5c but not the keyboard shortcuts. oh well.
