Just a little WIP, and maybe I'll finish it tomorrow :P
Don't think so though, have to study a lot.. :|
Just to give you some ideas: The real thing is about 4,5 cm long and width, and about 2 cm high...
Only the hull to do btw :)

I also need a good material for the plastic surface.. If I look at the real thing, it is as if it's a bit transparent (light comes trough the thin parts, while it's blocked trough the thick parts).. Anyone got a suggestion on how to do that?
All critics/opinions appreciated :)

I believe that what you are seeking for the look on the plane is subsurface scattering. Normally you could use the G2 plugin from Worley Labs, but there is also a trick done with gradient texturing to simulate it.

Good luck and nice work... It makes me remember of a plastic plane I got at home... :)

G2?
okay, that gradient texture.. Uhmm.. you mean making a gradient to simulate the lighter area's right? Gonna try that :)

Hmm.. maybe it's the same :p
I got it out of an egg with chocolate etc I think :D
I'll post some updates later this week, maybe it becomes clear :)

Nothing done to the texturing. I'll do that when I'm done with modeling :)

I thought the hardest part was done.. Well, I was seriously wrong..
Took me quite some time to expand that yellow part..
But well, it's coming along :) I'll post some wires when I finished te yellow part :)

If you wanna make the translucent look, try adding a gradient texture in the Translucency channel, and base it on the angle to the camera. Adrian Thompson's Blood Cell (http://www.btinternet.com/~realism3d/blood.htm) tutorial has a handy surfacing section that you can adapt... It was originally intended as an electron-microscope style image, but you can use the principles in it with some tweaking.

Okay, I'll play with that after finishing the modeling :)

Worked on the back some more :)

Wow man, that's really good! :D You're getting alot better at Lightwave! I really like the renders too!
