qemLOSS3 is now a free download, a trade item is no longer required.

When I received my LW8 upgrade, I decided it was time to bring the trade requirement to an end. Thanks to everyone who made the experiment a very enjoyable experience. I truly enjoyed all the trade items sent my way and the interaction I had with everyone who requested the plugin!

qemLOSS3 is available for LW6.5, LW7, and LW8 on Windows machines, and for LW7 and LW8 on Mac OSX machines.

As an added bonus, there is an experimental Lscriptable version of the plugin available for Windows LW7 and LW8 at the bottom of the web page.

Thanks very much Marvin.

Thank you for your generosity and contribution to the community. Though puzzled at the "back-story", or lack thereof..... I don't need to know and just appreciate the gift.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It has always been my pleasure to be part of the LW community, and I always enjoy sharing my work as just my little contribution for the things I have learned from everyone else.

There really is no mystery to the "back-story". I was very fortunate in the past to have several plugins included in LW6 and LW7 (RAPTS, SDTS, qemLOSS2). But with new rules being enforced where I work, it became fairly difficult to allow Newtek to include any of my new plugins in a commercial product. It can be done, but I just chose not to jump through the hoops and red tape necessary to make it possible. It's really as simple as that, and I'll always appreciate that the people at Newtek thought enough of the plugin to ask (several times actually :-).

HI,
Always loved the plugin. I'm having trouble in 8.2 however. I keep getting must have empty layer available error even with simple things. Anybody else experiencing this?
Thanks. :)

Ya' know what... Nevermind. User error :p

You need to select the next empty layer as a background layer. ;)

I think they changed something with 8.2 so that before it used to create 2 empty layers for your model if you used an empty layer, whereas now it doesn't count those spare layers, you have to select one of them first for Quemloss3 to pick it up.

I haven't had it happen to me under 8.2 and I've used it with some hefty (20,000) objects. It does take a while to get started though... And more clues?
