how do I add edges?

Hey, I'm doing a tutorial on box modelling a head and the author says to "add edges" to certain parts but I can't find an add edges tool. Is it under a different name or something?

I assume you are looking for a plugin collection called "Edge Tools" from D-Storm:

It has a command called "add edges", and is mentioned in some of the tutorials here at Newtek.
