The camera should be lower.. Brachiosauruses were very large creatures ;)
Also, the textures are exactly the same on every model.. Looks a bit weird :p
And maybe some dust would be nice :)
And well, last but not least, some smaller dino's at their feet would be a great addition :) Just to keep it a bit more real..

Looks like a lot of critics, but if I begin to type the positive sides, I'll be typing till tomorrow night :D
So don't get me wrong, since I really like it :) :)

The colours seem a bit too muted. Other than that it looks good.

What are those 'curtains' that go from their belly to their back leg?
HeHeHe

thx for your crtics guys. well i do my best to find a good background for them so i can show the size of a brachiosaurus. i also want to show them from near to give an impression of the texture they got.

@prospector: :ppppp those are no curtains!!!! lol should be some overlapping skin.

i ll update the pic asap

I`ve always have a problem with Dino textures...If you look with care, the skin is too glossy and clean.

the texture is actually pretty bumpy. due to the distance to the dinos to get em all on the pic it seems that they are almost not there. the glossyness is too high, true. i ll update that asap thx for the tips

yeah, i would love to place the camera lower. but unfortunatly i cant coz of the background pic. i had to syncronize the floor with the floor in the background pic and as a result of that the camera has to be the position it is. unfortunatly. i need a better bgdpic... if u find a pic which would suit the dinos better, i am thankfull for every link :) thx in advance

Ooh, I see now :)
Okay.. Two things you can do:
1) Make the dinos bigger
2) Use a different background.

But that 2nd one.. well, I think all backgrounds will look good (http://www.nevadamax.com/page20/mdes1.jpg for example)

And that 1st one.. A normal photo would be taken at the height of ones eyes, so that makes every photo suitable. But then, if that is the case, the dinos are just too small.. You could make them bigger :)

It seems most of the renders of dino's are like your first render...

I think its really nice... My only gripe is that i dont like your bump map for the necks, its to consistant and a bit to strong. The glossiness gripe was right, but I totally disagree with the food thing. 3d is for suspending reality for the viewer. If its not for some book or other reference I'd just add some real 3d scrubby trees with some nice textures for the bark - have one close to the camera and some further away. This will give it more depth also and it could also be a scale-reference to make the beasts look bigger.

I like the second render also, but when I see it I think they are looking for the lone-ranger or the lost dutchman's gold... Why?

I'm crazee... Its too "western" looking" the tree's need to look more primal, like they really were. I guess the whole desert/dino render factor is because a lack of vegatation lets the viewer fill in the blanks. Thats why I said just add some weird looking trees to the first render.

Really dude, ask your woman which looks better, or don't look at it all night and when you awake, take a comparison peek. With the later, you'll be trying to find tonto's tee-pee.

peace, and I'd like to say your work is damn fine, I'm just giving you my honest opinions.
