it's very sad that we can only get to see this little support for shockwave 3d even in newtek's forum.

in fact, i thought lw have more user support than other 3d software but amazingly little for intergration between lw and shockwave 3d.

I´ve tried around a lot with W3D some years ago, it doesnt work very well with LW, much better with this 3D-studio as the havok plugin lets you create physics without typing crazy lingo code that even doesnt work properly. so best to forget it.

And beside that, W3D isnt supported by the very common shockwave flash player but you have to download an own shockwave player and as this is some MB nobody does so.^^

Not true. Doesn't work well because of the bugs, but the axis are in line with shockwave, and LW has a weight map bone-system, which is much more better than 3ds max. There is much to keep track in 3ds-shockwave, because Character Studio has a different axis set, and lots lots more time to dev on max.
Lightwave Shockwave3D projects are much more easy to make - tell you, I own both.
You can forget, but I still would like a nice update, even if it is just a working preview window on Mac OS X:(

any good tutorial or example???

i must admite i m new to both. i used 3ds max and flash most of the time.

but i finally reach a stage that i think i wanna go for a higher level stuff ( or better understanding) that is why i choose LW. and i wanna try 3d interactivity (sick of cheating it by prerendered images)

or any good site on this??

I'm not really sure about english sites. I run a Japanese forum for Shockwave 3D, and have some links that friend run, also in Japanese.

Some english sites are :

http://www.theburrow.co.uk/d85/

http://www.directordev.com/

is my site, the board is pretty active.

other friends using Shockwave are :

I´ve tried a lot to create a scene where a car is driving across a city and it allways ended in a "desaster", the only working scenes with physic simulations were done with MAX and HAVOK plugin, please give me an example of such scenes done with LW, the lingo based collision detection simply doesnt work so you only can do this in HAVOK, not supported by LW^^

Hmm... I don't use Havok anyways, because it doesn't suit my taste. Too fluffy moves.
If you're doing realtime 3d, there is no way to NOT write as you say 'crazy lingo'.

I'll give you a sample as soon as I get some time;)
Of course, just setup in LW, and havok written in Lingo.

It's a he:)

He works for a game company, and does modeling in max for a living - for xbox I think.

That "collision detection" described in the lingo examples and lingo refferences simply doesnt work and this should be the easiest, if you really want to work with W3D you have to go to MAX and HAVOK, its mighty, watch examples at their homepage^^
