I have a bit of a problem - I can't use any of the new ATI catalyst drivers with Lightwave 7.5. If I do install them, every time I open the Graph Editor in layout Lightwave will completely crash. All other aspects of Lightwave work fine, but Graph Editor being broken kind of ruins the whole thing. I know the error is related to some portion of OpenGL, because the file causing the crash is atioglxx.dll.
However, if I install the two year old ATI driver that's provided by Hewlett Packard for my laptop, Lightwave will run fine. However, every other program on my computer will be slow and buggy because in all other respects it's a bad outdated driver.
So far, all I've been able to figure out is that this used to be a problem with the recent catalysts, but apparently the most recent versions fixed it, so I can't find anyone else who has the same problem as I do.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? Any tweaks or fixes that might help?
Specs:
Windows XP Pro SP1
Pentium 4 Mobility, 2.2 ghz
512 MB of RAM
Radeon Mobility, 32 MB of VRAM
Lightwave 7.5c
