View Full Version : graphics on timeline

Sometimes when I drop a graphic (ie, a lower third still) on the timeline, it doesn't show the proper file. What it does show is the previous graphic on the timeline. For example, if I drop in images 1, 2 and then 3, the third graphic will show in the timeline, but playing back on screen will show the second image, so you will see images 1, 2 and 2. Dropping in a fourth image will show the third image and so on. It starts on random images, although usually between the second and sixth image. The only way I've found to correct this (short of restarting the toaster) is to scrub back through my project over every graphic that was originally goofed. Then the image shows properly when I go back to it. Deleting the image and then undoing doesn't seem to fix it, nor does simply reloading the project. Other graphics that were already in the timeline when the project was opened are unaffected. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks.

A similar issue arises for me when I save out a still in another program and overwrite an image that that the toaster has already made a thumb nail of. So.. I try not to overwrite files, just keep adding new names then erase the older versions. Might be related to your prob. dunno.

Thanks for the reply. We have the same problem you mentioned when we overwrite files also. The problem I originally mentioned occurs even when using discreet files that have not been resaved/renamed/etc. I'm still not sure what causes it.
