Why didn't any one ever tell me this... :D Do you ever have a large area to illuminate but want to use shadow maps on a smaller object? The spot light always
Illuminates a, well... spot on the larger area. But, if you clone the spotlight and leave one with shadows enabled at 100% intensity and the other with them disabled then set -100% intensity all you get are the shadows with no lighting. Add a distant light with no shadows and the rest of your area is illuminated. got this tip from a :cough: maya book. I'm sure you pros knew this but I didn't.
