I set my directory to the content folder in LW. Both in modeler and Layout, and still I have to reload the file every time I jump between modeler and Layout!! How do I get it to recall where the images in the content folder are???

Thanks

Images do not generally update unless you manually reload them, or the object that uses them, regardless of the hub - but there shouldn't be a problem finding them if they are in the correct location.

You do not normally need to set your content dir in both apps if the hub is running.

Are you using a standard project folder?

IE :-
\project\
\project\images
\project\objects
\project\scenes

If you do, this should be automatic. You will only need to locate something manually if it isn't in the correct folder.

In layout, you can use Generics\Content Manager to quickly see if any of your files are not ''local''

One other thing to check is to right click on the hub icon in your toolbar (or however you get to it on a mac). In there is a whole bunch of data that tells you whether file transfer is working the way it should or not.

As mkiii notes, the structure for a project requires specific folder names for parts to be found correctly. The basics are:
Objects
Scenes
Images
within a "content" directory. There are many more options as well. Often a "Render" directory is a good idea, as well as a "Settings" directory for MD or PFX or other exported/saved settings.

Also, make sure that if you have locked your hub prefs file (to custom change your colors) you unlock it and set the content directory correctly. Changing the content directory in Layout won't stick when you quit the program if your hub prefs are locked.

it can be helpful at times to stuff as much dynamite as possible into the hub and then pull the pin of a nice hand grenade and add that as well.

the hub, is widely thought to be the cause of many problems with mac Lightwave, and even Newtek suggests the Mac users Do NOT Use It (as Far as I know, if thats changed I apologize). Sometimes it just aint worth the price to have layout n modeler talk.
