"Free Educational Lightwave Download"

Hi People!

I recently registered my details with Newteks website (here I am!) but couldn't find where I should download the educational version of Lightwave?

As is says on the registration page

"...Download the Free educational version of our award-winning 3D application, access our exclusive Siggraph 2002 content and visit the LightWave 3D Online Help System for the complete 3D experience."

Where is it guys? :confused:

I don't think LightWave is available for download, yet. Chuck has hinted that the Discovery Edition may be available for download soon.

I've heard that you can run LightWave in demo mode by downloading some combination of patches, but I haven't bothered to try. For now, the best source of LWDE is a magazine. It's on a recent Computer Arts Special cover DVD.

How deos Newtek expect to compete with companies like SoftImage and Maya who DO allow downloads of their software to tryout? A good investment for Newtek would be some better servers so this would be possible.
