I am trying to model a head using the video I downloaded from
the tutorials section of the site (this one of course). I am using
LW 6.0
I understand smooth shift, drag and so on, but what does
spin quads in the TOOLS menu actually do.
Or Let me ask this...
What method do you use to join multiple polys together
in sub patch mode after the nose has been smooth shifted
and the point moved so that the forehead is formed?

I am using the Head Video from USER DELTA.
Any response would be great as I would love to be able
to do this.

Thanks,
and yes I did read the manual, but I do not understand,
"4 point polygons that share an edge, and it merges them
together".
When I use this tool I get huge holes!
This is user error I know, but what the ---- am I doing wrong?

spin quads takes two adjacent 4-sided polygons and moves their shared edge to the next pair of points. to put it another way, it joins them, then splits them again along a different boundary.

this image shows the effect of spinning quads twice. hope this helps.

I think I understand,
Is it possible the reason I get holes is my polys are not
sharing a common edge? Or something like that?
I will try experimenting with just something simple like
you have shown me.
Thanks for the reply.

I just simulated the problem I was having and I believe
I understand the Spin Quads tool now.
Yeah my polys did not share an EVEN edge so I got holes.
Thanks MAXX!!!!
