Anybody else have crashes when adjusting a Main Audio level node in Control Tree? From stop, I would select the node and Shift Drag it down about 5db and it would freeze up system everytime. This was on an AVI clip (PicVideo MJPEG at 19).

Thanks,

Is this a repeatable problem on all of your PicVideo MJPEG "19" files?

While I don't use the PicVideo MJPEG codec, I have had wierd things happen with some other AVI's.

I'm thinking that there is a bigger load on the system with the codec and for whatever reason it's probably too taxing on your system. There is something to be said for re-rendering such files to RTV's, which is what I do as soon as I experience sluggishness and what not.

I have had the same problem as you on this. My only solution has been to be very careful when doing adjustments on the audio control tree, but if I drag it to fast or too far outside the boundaries of the box it will lock up and freeze the whole system and then I have to shut it all down and lose everything I havent saved.

as for

Fic Video MJEG "19" files - I have no idea what or how that causes the thing to freeze up, it might be involved. but you should be able to edit in the control tree your wav files and not have it freeze.

The only time I get system crashes adjusting audio is in the Key Framing mode. I work in RTV on most projects as I had to many lockups working in DV.

I wonder if any one else is having trouble with lockups Key Framing audio ?

Yes, that is when it locks up on me as well, in the control tree when I am key framing audio levels, if I move the level too fast and drag it below the box it locks so I must be very careful to go slow and not have any fast movements.

Is there and official bug report method? Guess vidfeatures would get it there, but may be a more direct route.

Happens here, too. I sent a bug report in on it already.

Thanks for the insight on moving the cursor fast and moving it out side the modules boundary.
I will definitely try keeping in the box and moving slower. Moving a bit slower might save a bunch of time compared to shutting down and starting over again.

I experience the same lockups when working with keyframing [Playback Speed] under [Layer Settings]. . I’ll slowing down here to and see if makes a difference. Interestingly I have not found any lockups with keyframing [Alpha] or [Color Correction] settings.

Does any one see any difference between invoking keyframing from [Edit Properties] and [Control Tree] ?
