I was just wondering, among all the excellent demos that are being shown - can we have some test renders? High-res renders showing off the reflections, radiosity, and so on? Not the ones that are currently on the LW8 site - new ones done by beta testers.

The reason I ask, is because Lightwave has always been known for its kick-*** rendering out-of-the-box. However, recent versions such as 7.5c have introduced unfortunate side-effects to the rendering engine. Of course, it is a poor artist that blames the tools - and indeed, excellent results are plainly visible in both stills and animations such as Children of Dune and Battlestar Galactica. However, I was just wanting to see some renders posted - it would work as a marketing ploy too.

Of course, I can simply wait for LW8 too. Then I can test render to my heart's content. LOL

I Totally Agree,

The Demo's thus far have been great, some dynamic demo's, modeling demo's, bone demo's etc...

But what about Global illum, Radiosity, let's get some info on the "Rendering Enhcancements"

:D

I asked for a while ago to see a rendering done in 8. I'd like to see a benchmark between Lightwave 7.5 and 8 on the same machine.
