I was trying to make an alien. I used the extruding tool a lot. Then I hit the "Tab" key and evrything I extruded was split into different, smooth parts. I was wondering how I could make an object with SubPaches and have the arms, legs, etc. all together.
Thanks!

Sounds like you need to weld the points where the parts meet.
I agree, press 'm' (merge points) and hit return!

After Merge Points you must select the polygons at the base of every extrusion and delete them: Extrude mantain the starting polygon!
A better way is in using Bevel (eventually with Inset=0 and then clicking the "n" key and precisely adjust the values).
Bye.
1. Flip before you Extrude.
2. Delete the internal Trash Poly
3. Merge Points
Should be fine after that

Yes, I said extrude.
No, it does not give me "internal polygons"
What is smooth shift?

Hmm...
it's right under Rail Bevel.
Read it in the manual i guess... it explains better than me...
usu the tutorials on the web asks us to use that...
