Along with help from Tobias Ford (http://www.wolfpackstudios.com/main.shtml) we have managed to get Marvin Landis's (http://amber.rc.arizona.edu/lw/) set of Normal Map plugins working for OSX.

I actually ment to post it in the "New Plug-Ins for Lightwave Mac" thread of this forum. Anyhow, on this occasion most of the credit should go to Tobiss who did the time consuming debugging work to get this plugin going.
Cheers,
Richard.

Why doesn't FLAY ever report about these Mac developmenst? Maybe they only announce things when they are released on Windows.

Flay only tends to announce plugins if the information is emailed to them. I tend to leave this up to the creators of the plugins (it is their baby after all).
However, anyone can send the info to Flay :)

Well, I think Richard has done a truly wonderful job on Rounder, and I applaud his efforts in compiling plug-ins from other authors, but I do think that statement does Steve Worley a great disservice - I mean: Sasquatch, G2, Taft, Polk... not to mention his top secret new project!
You really do get a bit over-enthusiastic at times, Beam!
I think he was just talking about porting existing plug-ins. It would be fabulous if Newtek (or someone) hired someone to port more plug-ins!

In order to port a plugin the developer has to hand over their original source code. Unfortunately, you can't just take the plugin_PC.p file and scrunch it to produce a plugin_OSX.p file.
Since the original source code has to be handed over there are intellectual property and copyright issues involded.
Richard.

Rounder is a work of genius, and I shall ever be indebted to you for filling this rather obvious gap in LW's toolset.
I suspect Rounder - like many of D-Storm's plug-ins - will eventually be absorbed into the full build of LW at some point. It certainly deserves pride of place on the menu bar!
Yuh-huh - Rounder should have been incorporated a long time ago.
I showed the video to a 3DSMax guy and he started crying, ha ha!
