tells you how you might go about making a unix tool for mac os X. I scanned it, looks like a good read. I personally believe that the Lightwave renderer should be a unix tool, that utilizes a standardized modern cross platform command system (based on zeroConf? which is workable on the pc btw.) that way the controller and the renderer would be separate and not one big giant boat anchor (ala: screamernet). But hey, what do i know? its a good read anyway.
